Arlo Camera setup updates its hardware automatically as long as all of them are connected to the base station. Usually the firmware updates during the midnight hours i.e between 3 to 5 am so the down time for your camera security as as minimum as possible. One should also know that all of the Arlo devices updates themselves automatically provided that their battery percentage is not below 15 percent or if they are switched off then the updates are again initiated after 24 hours.
Homeowners must also know that if there is any major update released by Arlo then during updates they will not be able to see the live feed of the camera.
There may be the case that during firmware update the battery drops below 15 percent than don't panic, recharge the battery of your Arlo camera, resync the camera with your base station and the updates will start automatically.
How to know your Arlo Camera is updating firmware?
When the firmware is updating the led starts to blink in the blue and amber color and after that the LED will turn off for one to two minute while the firmware install the updates. The cameras will syncs to the base station again and the LED blinks blue rapidly.
Latest firmware updates also help you to preserve battery life.
